Oh Christmas Tree...

We got our Christmas tree decorated this week...Finally! It is always a chaotic event at our house. We all put our own ornaments on the tree and then Cade puts all the others on while we watch. This year he put them on from his perch on the treadclimber. Both Tikka and Rugar thought that he needed some assistance...so of course, they jumped in to help. Poor old Jade dog just lounged by the door and observed. It's so nice to have it decorated. Between the snow that we have outside and the decorated tree...it's really beginning to feel like Christmas :)

FALLing into winter

It's starting to really feel like winter here. You can seriously feel snow in the air here. As I'm not a winter/snow kind of person....let's reminisce about fall shall we?

Mudbugs

While in Hawaii, we each picked an activity. Todd picked an atv ride and I picked a tube ride through the irrigation canals on one of the old sugar cane plantations. As the tube ride was in the dark (duh it was in a tunnel) there are no pictures to share, BUT we have lots from our atv ride. We have 4-wheelers here at home so we opted to ride in a 2-person vehicle they call a mudbug. It has no fenders which leads to some serious mud to the occupants of the vehicle. It was a total blast! We had to wear rented clothes as not to ruin our own with the ever-staining red mud that makes up Kauai. We also got to swim in a waterfall when we stopped for lunch. The water was COLD, but it was quite an experience. I'm ready to go back anytime...

This is not us, but we looked like this most of the time.

Hi!

Are we there yet?

What happens on the island, stays on the island...

In the beginning of October, Todd and I took a much needed trip to Kauai. It was wonderful! It was warm and beautiful and we got some alone time which is always a bonus :) Here are some pictures of our week there.

Are you chicken?

We are officially chicken farmers :) We got a box of 2-day old chickies from Missouri on June 27th. They are now about 8 weeks old and we are gearing up to weed out the herd. They have been in the coop on their own since they were almost 2 weeks old. They were so teeny in that huge coop. Now, they are HUGE and there are WAY TOO MANY in their coop. We got a total of 16 chickies and technically we should have 8 hens and 8 roosters. So far, we have 3 confirmed roosters. They are so much fun. We love being chicken farmers!

More waterslide pics

We had so much fun that I couldn't fit all the pictures on one blog entry :)

Summer heat

This weekend was HOT. I loved every minute of it. We all knew that it was a successful weekend when each one of us had a sunburn to treat. It was between 90 and 95 on both Saturday and Sunday here in Prineville so we broke out Cade's and my new waterslide. The slide is HUGE. Like 12 feet tall huge. We had a blast! My sister spent the weekend with us and by Sunday night, we were all exhausted. Is it the weekend yet?

Are you Sirius?

YAY...my Sirius radio is installed and working. It's been a long time coming with lots of complications and frustrations, but it's done and it's great! I could just sit in my car for hours and rock out! Yay for Sargent's Stereo and going the aftermarket route :)

Christmas Again

It feels like Christmas all over again. The sun has taken a break from this Spring Break and the snow has taken over. I was supposed to finally get my Christmas present from my husband on Thursday (my satellite radio), BUT due to the icy roads, we didn't make it past Warm Springs. SO....I am having satellite radio installed in Bend TODAY! YAY! Merry Christmas to me! Wish me luck. Our luck with this thing hasn't been that great so far. Let's all keep our fingers crossed :)

Easter

I know that is has been almost a whole week since Easter, but our week has been crazy :)

To Boise and back

We had a pretty exciting weekend :) Todd's taxidermy of his bear and two antelopes were ready and we needed to pick them up. We drove to Idaho on Saturday morning and were in Boise by 11. We looked at the showroom and got all 3 mounts loaded into the truck. We also dropped off the javelina to be "worked on". We were back on the road headed home by 1 and were back in Prineville by 5:30. Whew. It was alot of driving! I can now say that I've been to Idaho. I didn't see much, but I HAVE been there. Maybe next time it won't be too cold for the water park :)

Birthday Week

It has been busy at our house. There isn't a whole lot to blog about concerning this kind of busyness though. It's all boring normal everyday stuff, but somehow it takes up all of our time. I also don't have the talent that some of my friends with blogs have in making anything written interesting. Some of them can make doing laundry seem interesting on here, but I just don't have it. We get up and get ready and all go our separate ways and then come home, eat dinner, bathtime, and the bedtime for Cade. Todd and I work out, take showers and go to bed....Pretty exciting :)

We have had lots of birthday excitement around here lately. Cade's birthday is January 25th and mine is the 28th. Between our birthday party for him, a party for one of his friends that was born on the same day, a party with his mom and then finally my party, we have had lots of birthday. My brother Matt's is on Friday February 1st also, but he's in Corvallis so my parents are taking his birthday to him. We both had good birthdays. We are both spoiled :) It was fun to spend time with our friends and family while we celebrated the best couple days of the year.

Ok...No XM

We drove ALL the way to Portland yesterday and braved the snow-covered pass. It was pretty nasty most of the way, but we made it. We got to the dealership and left my car there, we got the rental car and headed to Clackamas Town Center. We had been passing time shopping :) only to have the dealership call in the afternoon to say that the parts needed to install the satellite radio (neither Sirius or XM)and we would have to come back when they came in. I also needed my CD player fixed and that should have been covered under warranty...BUT someone previously put coins into the CD player and that is NOT covered under warranty...

Long story short....we got my oil changed and my CD player fixed. They ordered the parts for the satellite radio (parts for BOTH Sirius and XM) and we are going back when the parts are there in their hands.

By the time we got home....we were both too tired to stay up until midnight to celebrate the New Year. Happy New Years...we made it until 10..WOOHOO! Yeah...we're old.

One good thing came out of the trip. I DID thoroughly enjoy my shopping trip in Portland. And I get to go back sometime in the next week :)

I hope everyone's New Year was great and I admire those of you that actually made it to midnight :)
